Katherine Rody approaches each new canvas as an explorer, discovering the limitless expressive possibilities of abstraction. Katherine listens to the paintings and creates bridges, as the paintings evolve. Inspiration from nature finds its way into her paintings. She believes that color is the language of the heart, and with it she expresses all that she finds beautiful through layers of color and movement.
Painted Cyanotypes
Recently, Katherine has been developing a series of painted cyanotypes of flowers on linen. Using acrylic inks, she has collaborated with Angela Meijer to turn these flower shapes into vibrant and abstract blooms that pop against the prussion blue of the cyanotypes and creme colored linen.
